#50 A colorful jewel

• Like, I imagine, all those who visit Burano, I have often wondered about the reasons for its brightly colored houses, and the explanation seems to lie mostly in a legend.
Here's how it, seemingly, went: the village was painted in this exuberant way to allow the fishermen returning home from long working days in the lagoon, to acknowledge their residences even in those foggy or bad weather days so frequent in winter season.
Whether true or not, this little gem quietly lying in the middle of the lagoon remains to us as a gift for our eyes and soul.
