On the contrary of my previous entry (#14), this one is much more about the way the venetians live carnival experience in their own city. While most of the tourists and visitors gather in St. Mark's, Rialto or other reknown hotspots, residents have a different style to enjoy the special atmosphere of this time of the year. Of course, some will join the crowd and will roam around dressed in sophisticated eighteenth century costumes; but the vast majority of locals do participate at it in a much simpler and more intimate way. That is, for instance, just wearing a tiny "bauta" and sharing a glass of wine and a warm chat with a good friend at the usual bar round the corner.
