#17 A solitary walker

One of the things I do like of Venice is that it is a quiet place. Most of us are used to the noise and confusion that are common to almost every city (mostly due to vehicles traffic); if you venture away from busy locations as St. Mark's or Rialto, you might found yourself quite surprised in hearing only the sound of your steps while you're wandering around streets and bridges. Unfortunately, this silent and peaceful atmosphere has a grim explanation: the town is getting more and more deserted year after year as a constant number of residents move to mainland in search of jobs and cheaper housing.
