• Where else can you find a gondola turned into a bookshelf if not in the city that used to be for centuries the world capital of book printing?
If you find yourself in Venice and one of your interests is the love for books and reading, then you can't miss a visit to the bookstore "Acqua alta" (nomen omen...).
While wandering amid books and boats (the gondola is not the only...floating item), you can chat with owner Luigi Frizzo, who will gladly help you find what you are looking for by literally digging among stacks of books.
As the name itself suggests ("Acqua alta" stands for "High tide"), carefully check in advance the city tides bulletin or, if not possible, make sure you bring a pair of waterproof knee-high boots.
