• ....there was a city where kids were playing around "calli and campielli", running up and down bridges; squares were easily turned into soccer fields, with cackling children running after a ball amid greengrocer kiosks and busy passers-by.
I forgot to say I took this picture almost thirty years ago; since then, city officials have passed regulations, among others, to......forbid kids to play soccer in public places (namely in squares!)
No surprise then if parents slowly but unstoppably started to move away from such an unfriendly place for youngsters.
