• A legend just as well accepted as little verified, explains the vivid colouration of Burano houses with the need for local fishermen in past times to be able to spot their own home even in foggy or rainy days, while sailing back from long working hours out in the lagoon.
I can't tell whether this is the real reason behind the decision to create such an extraordinary environment; but, to be honest, when I'm there and I have the chance to photograph this amazing explosion of color and tonalities, I am not concerned that much about the why and how that caused the making of this little piece of marvel.
