#29 Ladies in black

• Gondolas were once the undisputed dominators of the lagoon, and the whole town's life was in sync with the slow pace of these strange and elegant boats. Difficult to conduct but at the same time sinuous and agile, able to navigate through the most narrow channels without difficulty. The ruling body of Venice used these floating limousines to move around, and to assert its power and wealth. Nowadays, these elegant ladies in black make no longer their duty to transport the venetian elite but still serve the city while boosting its economy as one of the most popular tourist attractions.
